MadKit is an open source modular and scalable multiagent platform written in Java
and built upon the AGR (Agent/Group/Role) organizational model:
MadKit agents play roles in groups and thus create artificial societies.

MadKit is a free software based on the GPL/LGPL license featuring:

-- Artificial agents creation and life cycle management
-- An organizational infrastructure for communication between agents
-- High heterogeneity in agent architectures: No predefined agent model
-- Multi-Agent based simulation and simulator authoring tools
-- Multi-agent based distributed application authoring facilities

MadKit 4 comes with a full set of facilities and agents for launching, displaying,
developping and monitoring agents and organisations.

MadKit 5 contains the new version of the kernel API, and some demos.

Both could be tested to have an hint about what MadKit is.

Try MadKit 5 demos online using Java Web Start :

  • The bees simulation
  • A Market organization (using the contract net protocol)
  • Multi Pong demo
  • The MadKit 5 desktop

    Students projects :
  • A Multi tamagoshis game
  • A distributed doodle demo

Latest news

MadKit version 5 alpha 14 is out !
This is the new MadKit kernel and it contains a lot of changes ! This is an alpha release because the api is subject to change. But it works quite well as it passes all the tests we have implemented so far and contains some exciting fetaures such as java class hot reloading, gui management, synchronization agent macros, and much more. This version also contains howTo source codes. Feedback is of course welcome !
